ED 307 post 12- technology in education

I think that e-books and audio books may take the place of traditional books and textbooks in the classroom and this would be a good thing because students of today are so used to using more technology in today's world and are even finding it hard to use traditional educational tools such as traditional books and pen and paper. Students are so used to typing that it's easier to use a computer to do schoolwork and homework than to write out their work with pen and paper by hand. Technological advances of today's world and the world of the future will definitely show in education, I think. Education has to adapt to the times, and I believe a way will be found to adapt to the change. Just as educational methods need to change, so do the technological tools used. It's a fast-paced world today and I think education and educational tools will reflect this and should because people are finding it easier to get information much faster, so why not be able to learn faster-with the technology of today!

ED 307 post 11- new ideas

I think more thorough and complete testing and evaluation of students as well as a requirement for all students to b e evaluated by schools will help place students in the right place in school. I think testing platforms need to be changed and more based on the real progress and interests/passions of the student and how much they can achieve later on. this can get a better idea of where the student should be in school.

ED 307 post 10- new idea

I think that students should all be thoroughly tested for their knowledge of concepts, evaluated for what assistance they can be given before going to school and figure out what the students' interests are before starting school. I think it is important to start addressing any potential problems students may have in school before attending school. I also think that parents should begin to address problems before a child begins school.I think that doing all these things in schools as far as requirements will personalize learning for each student and prepare them for future careers. I  think putting students with like-minded students of the same intelligence level and same needs will help them socially as well as academically because they will make friends and collaborate on assignments.

ED 307 post 9-partnering pedagogy

after doing the partnering pedagogy assignment, the more I get interested in it. What I love about it most is there are so many ways to implement it and so many options with it to teach students and that it can really engage them in their learning if done right. I am always coming up with new ideas about my future classroom, and this is the one I wish to model in my classroom. I really enjoyed doing the wiki assignment. I think I would have my future students do something like this.

ED 307 post 8- special ed. services and technology

I think all students should be examined to determine what each student needs as far as assistance is concerned. This will allow for personalized education. I

ED 307 post 7- partnering and constructivism

I think these two ideas are great for the classroom and will engage students. It will let them use technology and engage them in their learning and encourage thinking that allows them to think in their own way about concepts. It will also encourage creativity. After learning about these two methods of teaching, I was very interested in them. I think every teacher should use them in their classroom

ED 307 post 6- ideas about how to help students from low-income families through the use of technology

1- allow these students to go to computer lab to complete all lessons online and if student is still in computer lab working on assignments, use a video session with instructions to the student on how to access it.
2- spend extra time with the student helping them to understand content, whether using technology or not and encourage them to take advantage of any help they have available.
3-give them typed out copies of lessons if needed
4- encourage group work and peer collaboration on lessons as much as possible
5- give them an alternative method for turning in assignments(if needed) if they are unable to do the assignment due to the fact that their family can't afford materials.
6- encourage the student to ask for help if needed
7-allow them more time using technology if needed to complete assignments

ED 307 Post 5- new ideas

I think  group work in schools increases collaboration and also allows students to learn about each other instead of just assuming things about them. It's especially good when it is combined with the use of all the wonderful technology out there. I think all teachers should do this-1) put seats together so everybody has a group to sit with and don't move the desks except when administering a test. 2)Rotate seating each day, 3)have a computer or other technological device in reach of the students for them to use with their lessons and make sure they are doing their lessons and not goofing off and playing with the devices, 4)Have a group activity each day.

ED 307 post 4- flipped classrooms

after the lesson on flipped classrooms in ED 307, I thought a lot about it, and I think it's a great idea!! I don't understand why this method isn't adopted in more classrooms. I would use this method in my future classroom. I like the idea. I would even go beyond that with my previous ideas written about on this blog. I think it is a great idea that could be added to. I think it would benefit students, especially with the results shown from the reports about it.

ED 307 post 3- new idea

I have a new idea of a way to get students excited about learning and having fun while they're learning- creating a video game that groups of students can play based on a lesson that can be used on a computer or on a game system. I thought of this because kids love playing video games- Why not make video games a useful educational tool? Why not use kids' love of video games to teach them.
Also, I think it would be a good idea to get parents to encourage more educational computer/video game time by getting the word out about these things. Teachers can send letters/emails, etc. to spread the word to parents and even give them lists of good educational games. This will allow students to have fun while learning but not even know they are learning anything because they are having a blast with the game.

ED 307 post 2- new ideas

1- I think we should get students actively engaged in their learning, and I think incorporating the latest technology in the classroom is a great way to help do that, making interesting graphics, using words in interactive lessons that help them understand the lesson
2- I think students should be able to use technology at home to connect with teachers and fellow students. There should be a way for students to always get the latest updates on their grades, info about assignments and other class info, as well as an opportunity to let their instructor know if they need help with something.
3- I think students should be able to connect with each other to get help from other students
4- I think parents should always have a direct line via phone or computer to talk to their child's teacher whenever they need to discuss things. This will improve parental involvement

ED 307 post 1- new idea- how to incorporate all technology so that everyone gets the best resources

1- let students use the internet to research topics that teachers want them to research
2-give them plenty of hands-on and interactive games and activities to do to learn about a topic
3-give them pictures with descriptions
4-use video demonstrations instead of simply just using paper instructions on how to do a lesson
5-give students connections that they can easily use to talk to teachers and other students and easily find class updates and assignment information.
